The official student publication of the University of the Philippines Mindanao shall be known as HIMATI.

HIMATI shall serve primarily as a publication that will cater to the interests of the students and the people. It shall strive to protect and promote the public character of the University of the Philippines Mindanao and shall ardently struggle for the welfare of its constituents.

The publication shall strive to uphold the welfare of the students and the people. It is the constitutional right of the students and the people to freely express their opinions and thoughts through any media without hindrances. Thus, the publication will work to protect this and shall devote itself to be the voice of the students and the people’s grievances.

The students and the people are the lifeblood of the publication. All the actions of the publication thereof shall be in service to this thought. Thus, the members of HIMATI shall safeguard the rights of the people and continually side with the oppressed through active, immersed, and responsible journalism.
